紹介 Breakout
Breakout is the classic Atari brick-breaking game. Control a paddle at the bottom of the screen to bounce a ball upward and destroy all the colored bricks. Don't let the ball fall! A timeless arcade experience, free to play online.
History of Breakout
Breakout was conceived by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow at Atari and released as an arcade game in 1976. The prototype was famously built by Steve Wozniak, with Steve Jobs acting as intermediary, shortly before the two went on to co-found Apple Computer. Wozniak's elegant design used far fewer chips than typical arcade boards of the time. The game was a direct evolution of Pong, adding the single-player brick-breaking mechanic. Breakout went on to inspire countless clones, most notably Arkanoid (1986), and its influence can be seen in brick-breaker games across every gaming platform to this day.
Breakout Tips & Strategies
- 💡Aim the ball toward the corners and edges of the brick formation to maximize the number of bounces and bricks cleared per shot.
- 💡Keep the paddle centered under the ball's trajectory; only move to intercept rather than chasing the ball preemptively.
- 💡Hit the ball with the edge of the paddle to create sharper angles, allowing you to reach bricks in hard-to-access areas.
- 💡Once the ball breaks through the top layer and bounces above the bricks, it will clear multiple bricks rapidly on its own.
- 💡Focus on creating a channel through one section of bricks to get the ball into the gap behind the formation.
